Looks like the weather is starting to cool off. Here's a look back at one hot hot week.
- I didn't want to bury the lead so I'll start off with this Michael Pollan essay in the NY Times about the evolution of food television.
- The Willamette Week on the other hand did bury the lead, with their visit to Beaker and Flask placed way in the back of their print edition. I'll use this as an excuse to post another Beaker and Flask photo. They also visited Ned Ludd.
- The Mercury visited the Fish and Chip Shop on N Killingsworth.
- The Oregonian visited Du Kuh Bee. No further comment. I will say that I'm excited about their report about the arrival of Anju in the old Nutshell space.
- The Oregon Bartenders Guild raised money for Schoolhouse Supplies with a cocktail competition held at Hobnob Grille.
- A couple of recent openings include Pope House Bourbon Lounge for your post-Tanuki boozing needs, as well as Branch for your, uh, post-Lolo boozing needs.
- A couple of re-openings include the new Alu Wine Bar as well as the revamped Acadia.
- Whippy is blogging about Santa Fe. Oh man that Bobcat burger looks delicious.
And can you guess where these fried chicken gizzards are from?
