Chinese sausage banh mi

While other banh mi shops have heartier fillings, there's nothing quite like having a banh mi made with fresh bread, still warm from the oven. A sandwich combo here at An Xuyen comes with some Vietnamese coffee, and will set you back a meager three bucks and change.

The interior looks like there's no seating, but look behind the door and you'll find extra chairs and tables. The small floor area will hold about four or five diners comfortably while still keeping room for patrons to line up.

Also, the kid working the register had to be one of the more attentive food service professionals I've seen in a while.

I'm pretty sure that picture is the meatball...

I think we're talking the same thing -- I always ask for xiu mai, but I think it shows up on the menu as meatball, and I call it Chinese sausage.

maybe... many banh mi places will use the harder cured Chinese sausage & have the meatball as a seperate entity.
