As far as gastropubs go, Clyde Common is one of the best. Its industrial-chic atmosphere belies the comfort at the extensive zinc bar, at the communal tables, or upstairs in the mezzanine. The food is best described as an homage to European gastropubs, employing the nose-to-tail school of cooking. As such, Clyde Common's menu adjusts daily, and often features offal in addition to elevated versions of the usual pub grub. Their bar is one of Portland's best, boasting a staggering array of whiskeys, bitters and other spirits for use in their artisanal cocktails.
